Tech Note 2: For Spicer Only CV Joints
Ford used two types of constant velocity driveshaft heads from 1999-2002, Saginaw/AAM or Spicer. Only Spicer Type CV shafts were used after 2002. During the 2005 Super Duty model year, a Slip Joint Design Change took effect on December 6, 2004. QK3105 Kit is only compatible with the 1999-2014 4x4s with Spicer Type front CV shafts! If you have a 1999-2002 Saginaw/AAM Type Front CV Shaft, see QK3111.

Tech Note 3: Ball Stud Yoke
The 1/2″ diameter stud on Ball Stud Tube Yoke welded on the CV end of your driveshaft tube (QU40825) MUST be in good shape. If it is not, the bearing rollers contained inside the CV Ball of your new QU40744 CV Ball Kit will either fall out or break apart in short order. Besides having your Ford broke down again, this type of failure is something we can NOT replace under warranty. Another fairly common no warranty problem is to break a needle bearing by inadvertently dislodging one or more needles during assembly and then forcing the yoke into place.

Tech Note 4: Not Included
To keep the cost as low as possible, this Kit DOES NOT include QU40704 Dust Seal, Boot Clamps, or S9975 Anti-sieze Compound for the Flange Pilot. If needed, order QU40704 Dust Seal and either 2 QU20139 Boot Clamps for 1999-2005.5 Type A Slip Joint or 2 QU50586 Clamps for 2005.5-2014 Type B Slip Joint separately.
