Tech Note 1: Measure Axle Shaft
Dana S111 axle shafts are used in “sets”, have unequal shaft lengths and may be “location specific” or “wheel equipment specific”. When replacing S111 axle shafts, ensure the correct one is ordered by measuring the bolt circle, outside diameter of the splined end, counting the number of splines, and measuring the axle shaft length. See Tips for Measuring a Full Float Rear Axle Shaft. Do not misplace axle shafts from their intended location!
