QU40027 1-13/16″ ID Spindle Nut Lock Washer for Dana 60 Rear Axles

QU40027 Rear Dana 60 Bend Over Tab Spindle Nut Lockwasher for 1959 to 1988 light trucks with Dana 60 rear axles having 1-13/16″ diameter spindle threads. QU40027 is used with two QU40026 Spindle Hex Nuts that measure 2-3/8″ across the flats or with a now discontinued 2-3/8″ rounded hex spindle nut. This lockwasher mainly fits Chevy, Dodge, Ford, GMC, and Jeep 3/4 ton 4×4 and 4×2 trucks, but it was also used by Dodge on some 1960’s 4×4 W100 trucks. USA Made. Sold Individually, Order 2 per Axle.

Tech Note 1: Replace
Never reuse a bend-over-tab spindle lockwasher as metal fatigue on the bend over and spindle tabs may cause them to break off which could allow the spindle nuts to back off! I have been driving behind vehicles that had this happen. It is not a pretty sight.

Tech Note 2: Nut Torque
Spindle nut torque values will vary depending upon make and model. You MUST be careful not to over tighten the outer spindle nut which could cause the inside tab on the lockwasher to sheer off!

Metal Axle Shaft to Hub Gasket applications for vehicles using this part are:
Chevy, GMC 1965-1972: QU30051
Dodge 1963-1968: QU40078 (fits models that don’t use an outer wheel seal sandwiched between 2 gaskets)
Jeep 1974-1988: QU30051
