QU10817 Snap Ring, NP241DHD Rear Output Shaft to Rear Bearing

QU10817 Rear Output Shaft Snap to Rear Output Bearing Snap Ring Two of these Snap Rings are used to center QU50207 Rear Output Bearing to the Mainshaft for most New Process NP241DHD Transfer Cases. Two more (for a total of 4) are used to secure the speedometer drive gear on 1996 and 1997 model year units. This Ring fits ALL 1998 to 2002 NP241DHD models and those 1996 and 1997 NP241DHD transfer cases with the 31 Spline Rear Output Shafts and 2.200″ diameter rear slip yokes. NP241DHD transfer cases were optional on the Ram 2500 and standard on the Ram 3500. USA Made.

Tech Note 1: When Ordering
Ordering parts for 1996 and 1997 NP241DHD transfer cases can be confusing because there were 2 versions being used by Dodge for those years. Most 1996 transfer cases will have a two piece tailshaft housing, have a 32 spline output shaft, and use a driveshaft slip yoke with an outside diameter of approximately 1-13/16″. As far as I have seen, these small output cases all have 8 digit assembly numbers that begin with 5209. You will also find a few 1996 trucks and most 1997 ones that have a NP241DHD using a large bore, one piece tailshaft housing. The output shaft has 31 splines, slip yoke diameter is just a bit over 2-3/16″ and all the 8 digit assembly numbers I have seen start with 5210.
