Tech Note 2: Must Remove
To replace your Inner Axle Shaft Oil Seals, you have to remove the brakes, hubs, axle shafts, and differential. See TSB4597 for detailed, color illustrated, easy to read service procedures for removing and installing your AAM925 Front Axle Inner Axle Shafts.

Tech Note 3: Seal Type
QU10945 is an oil bath type seal. The actual seal surface is internal, meaning the inner sleeve of the seal rotates within the outer body. With this design, the outside diameter of the seal shell is a press fit in the axle housing. The inside diameter of the rotating sleeve is an interference fit on the axle shaft. If you had to use a pry bar to get your axle shafts out, it was due to the tight fit between the axle shaft and seal.

Tech Note 4: After Installing
After installing your new seals, lubricate the inside of the rotating sleeve with a thin film of grease or petroleum jelly. Doing so will ease axle shaft installation and minimize corrosion on that axle shaft seal surface.

Tech Note 6: 2013.5-current
2014-up RAM 2500 and 2013-up RAM 3500 4x4s have a AAM925 12 Bolt Front Axle with Electric Central Axle Disconnect. QK4685 will install the left seal on these axles, but we recomend you use our TK4038 Kit which is specific for installing both the left and right seals in the 2013-current 12 bolt axle.
