Tech Note 1: Front Hub Choices
1998-1999 Front Hub Choices for 1998 & 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 and Dodge Ram 3500 with Single Rear Wheels:
Use QK4527 for either side on trucks with rear wheel ABS
Use QK4552 for the right side on trucks with 4-wheel ABS Discontinued
Use QK4554 for the left side on trucks equipped with 4-wheel ABS

1998-1999 Front Hub Choices for 1998 & 1999 Dodge Ram Dodge Ram 3500 with Dual Rear Wheels:
Use QK4578 for either side on trucks with rear wheel ABS
Use QK4553 for the right side on trucks with 4-wheel ABS
Use QK4587 for the left side on trucks equipped with 4-wheel ABS

Tech Note 2: Verify if ABS
For 1998-1999 Ram 3500 duallys, you need to verify if your big Ram has Rear Wheel ABS or 4 Wheel ABS. 1998-1999 trucks with 4 Wheel ABS have a side specific, hub mounted internal ABS sensor. If your 1998-1999 dually is only equipped with Rear Wheel ABS, then QK4578 is the Kit you need to replace either of your front wheel hubs. If your 1998-1999 truck HAS 4 wheel ABS, order QK4553 Right Hub or QK4587 Left Hub.

Tech Note 3: Unitized Construction
1998-1999 Dodge Ram 4×4 front wheel hubs are of unitized construction. Unitized Hubs are not serviceable and no individual replacement parts are available for them. If your front wheel bearings are noisy or loose, or the hub and bearing are separated during removal, you need to replace the hub and bearing assembly.

Tech Note 4: Replace Studs
For safety reasons, you MUST replace your old wheel studs with the new ones supplied in this Kit.

Tech Note 5: Before Assembly
Before assembling your brake rotor to the hub, check the rotor mounting face for rust or dings. Remove all rust and/or dirt from the mounting area, plus smooth any dings that would prevent the rotor from seating against the hub.

Tech Note 6: Machine Rotor
Install the studs either in a crisscross pattern or use a press fixture that will evenly install either 4 or 8 studs at once. If you drive the studs in, you MUST clamp the hub and bearing together using the outer axle shaft or a long bolt with big washers! Once the hub and rotor is assembled and installed on the vehicle, it is STRONGLY recommended that you have the rotor machined on the vehicle with a hub mounted, on the vehicle brake lathe.
