QT1179 Economy Bearing Cup Remover Punch 1-1/4″ x 14″

QT1179 Economy Bearing Cup Remover Punch is specifically made for the Do-it Yourself mechanic that needs a good, functional, yet lower cost Bearing Cup Removal Punch for occasional use. Our USA Made QT1179 is about 14″ long making it long enough to work on almost all wheel hubs, transfer cases, and manual transmissions used on 4x4s and trucks up to 1-1/2 ton size. The 1-1/4″ diameter of the tool gives a good contact surface on the bearing cups you need to remove. At about 4-3/4 lbs. there is enough mass to absorb most of the hand-hurting vibrations created when your hammer impacts on the punch. We make this tool from tough 4140 high-strength steel to both minimize the chance of gouging bearing bores and to reduce the cost. We have chamfered the hammer end and machined a small radius on the cup end to minimize mushrooming, however this tool will wear and mushroom from repeated use so you will need to regrind the ends as needed for safety and function.
